Hall of Fame

The Maddogs Hall of Fame honors whole teams. A season is elected by the alumni association and inducted at the annual dinner.

Inducted 2026, ceremony December 5

1999: The unbeaten season

Record 12–0. Captain Oskar Dunn. Coached by Nate Garvey. 40 players.

The only Maddog side to go a full season without a loss. A heavy, patient pack and a back line that scored 61 tries between them, finishing with a 24–10 win in the New England final in the snow.

They conceded just 88 points all season, and no team scored more than once against them after October.

2016: Conference champions

Record 11–2. Captain Ryan Warren. Coached by Paul Iyer. 47 players.

Written off after losing the first two games, this team won eleven straight and lifted the conference trophy for the first time in 13 years.

They’re remembered for a goal-line stand against Harrow Point that lasted nine phases, and a final won with a drop goal after the clock went red.

2011: National semifinalists

Record 13–1. Captain Isaiah Brennan. Coached by Paul Iyer. 41 players.

The furthest a Maddog side has gone on the national stage. They beat two ranked teams on the road to reach the final four, and sent three players on to senior club rugby.

2003: The fifteens and sevens double

Record 9–3. Captain Nick Dunn. Coached by Nate Garvey. 41 players.

  • Regional sevens champions

Won the regional fifteens title in the fall and the sevens title in the spring, with largely the same squad. Several of this team now coach youth rugby across New England.

1994: First national tournament

Record 10–2. Captain Diego Rossi. Coached by Eric Coleman. 40 players.

The team that put the club on the map. Their run to the national tournament brought in a new generation of recruits and the club’s first alumni fundraising drive.

1987: New England champions

Record 11–1. Captains Tom Donnelly and Hiroshi Price. Coached by Emeka Stone. 53 players.

The founding era’s finest side. Coached by volunteers and playing on a borrowed field, they won the New England title with a forward pack still talked about at every reunion.
