The Maddogs stay on top of the conference
A tight win over Iona, women continue their unscored on season.
In a tightly contested match, the Maddogs fought until the end to hold off #2 in the conference Iona to continue their undefeated streak.
Initially leading 14-0, Iona scored to quickly tie going into the half. With back and forth scoring the dogs put one in on the corner to edge ahead 26-24 with 10 minutes left. An incredible goal line stand for the final five minutes of the match forced an error and a Northeastern scrum on the last play. Early driving gave the dogs the penalty to end the game. Congratulations to second rower Jake Pobjoy who won man of the match.
The women continued their winning streak as well, beating UMASS on the road 48-0, and continue unscored on for the season. Their second side continue to show their depth and won 32-17.
The men’s A side will be traveling to Buffalo this Saturday, October 10th for a 1:30PM game. With Buffalo as the new #2 in the conference the boys will be looking to defend their place at the top of the table. The women will be playing New Haven away at 2PM.
