Men lose narrowly to Yale

Men get their first lose of the season in narrow loss to Yale.
It was a sad result Saturday night where the Maddogs had their first loss of the season to Yale in Connecticut. Going up 7-0 after a try from co-captain Harry Johnston, Yale quickly responded with a try of their own and made the conversion. NU scored again after co-captain Charlie Beney put one in for 12-7 but Yale countered with another try and conversion at the half to start the second 12-14. Yale started the second half strong and scored an additional 7 that was answered by a Northeastern penalty kick and then a try from Marco Ortiz to bring the dogs back into the lead 22-21. In the final 15 minutes of the game Yale kicked a penalty to solidify their win 22-24. Well done to the Maddogs who fought hard until the end. Man of the match was Charlie Beney.
The womens team beat BU on their home turf 69-0, leaving no question as to why they top their conference. Their second side won 35-21 as well.
The men are looking forward to playing home this upcoming Saturday, October 24th, against Babson with a 2:45PM kickoff. Alumni weekend is upon us so make sure to get out there and cheer on the Maddogs! While in town to support the Men make sure to extend some support the women’s team, who are playing Uconn home at Carter Field on Sunday, October 25th. Kickoff will be at 3:00PM
