The first Maddog Memorial Touch Tournament
A new winter tradition in the Carter Field dome, honoring Michael "Strock" Strouch and Mike Walsh.
Join us this Saturday, January 26 for the first annual Maddog Alumni Memorial Touch Rugby Tournament in the new club sports dome at Carter Field on Columbus Ave. It will become a yearly winter event to honor the fallen teammates and mentors of Maddog rugby.
This year we fondly remember Michael “Strock” Strouch and Mike Walsh, both of the class of 1990, and we’ve set up a fundraiser to support their families.
Registration opens at 1pm and the first kickoff is at 1:30. Teams are co-ed and mixed, alumni with current players, picked on the day, and there will be a winning team and MVPs. Just show up with your boots and shorts, and bring the family.
After the tournament there’s a buffet dinner at the old Our House (now Dos Diablos), where we’ll take questions on the club’s financial report, introduce the next Hall of Fame nominations and remember our fallen brothers. Then it’s on to Matthews Arena for NU hockey.
