The Maddogs sevens squad

Wins over Tufts, UConn twice and Fairfield in the final earn the top seed for the conference final at AIC.

The Maddogs brought two packs to URI for the New England stop of the Liberty Conference Sevens series. The A Dogs won the tournament, beating Tufts, UConn twice and Fairfield in the final. That earns a top seed in pool play at the Liberty Conference final at AIC on Saturday, April 13, where the winner takes the automatic bid to the USA Sevens Championship in Tucson, Arizona on May 24 and 25.

The B Dogs played strongly at URI but couldn’t get a win against A-side opposition. They redeemed themselves in Cambridge the following weekend, filling in for some A-side mates at Harvard: Harvard beat our mixed Dogs cleanly, but we then beat BC and lost a tight one to the Jumbos.

AIC, April 13, Springfield. The Maddogs, seeded first from New England, play Rutgers at 9:20, Fordham at 11:20 and Albany at 1:20. The playoffs start at 3:30, with the championship at 5:40. Buckle up!

Giving Day is Thursday, April 11. Giving Day is mainly about the number of donors, not the total given, so many small gifts at the right times of day win the club prize money. Young NOBs, this means you!
