The 2019 fall campaign
An all-alumni support staff joins Coach Ed as the Maddogs chase a second Liberty title in three years.
With summer ending, the club is ramping up for the 2019 fall fifteens season. The Maddogs look to build on another incredibly successful sevens season. Head coach Ed Tubridy and forwards coach Alexander Micco are joined by an all-alumni support staff of Chris Frazier, Troy Sorrento and Dave Wedge, looking to bring the same tenacity and speed to the fifteens as the club chases its second Liberty Conference championship in three years.
Returning starters and leaders Darren Chan, Lowell Haska, Alex Parciak and Ryan Connolly bring experience to a lineup that debuts on September 14 at 5:30pm against URI at Northeastern’s on-campus field, Carter Playground.
This September the club also kicks off its Husky Starter campaign, a university-sponsored fundraiser for new tackle pads and film equipment and to cover Liberty Conference and USA Rugby dues. The club is mainly funded by the players’ own dues, and last spring’s Giving Day is what made the trip to Sevens Nationals possible, only the second in team history.
Alumni Weekend kicks off under the Friday night lights at Carter Field on October 4 against BC at 8pm, with a post-game buffet and Hall of Fame presentation at the Alumni Center across the street, and golf on Saturday morning.
