Highs and lows

The alumni sponsor a new set of 35th-anniversary jerseys, and the club mourns one of its own.
This past December a group of alumni got together to support the club by sponsoring the team’s new jerseys. Just as we were making plans, news came from the team that one of their own, Vardi ’21, had died the week before the winter holidays. He was a Maddog junior in his prime. Our thoughts are with his family and his teammates.
The executive board, the coaches and the club sports office are forming a tighter bond, determined to build a more cohesive club of men and women committed to supporting each other on and off the field.
On Sunday, February 9 we come together again as a community to remember the ones we have lost (Vardi ’21, Strock ’90, Michael Walsh ’90 and Professor Bruce Wallin) at the second annual Memorial Touch Tournament, co-ed with the Lady Dogs this year. A raffle at the tournament will help fund scholarship accounts for the children of our memorialized Maddogs.

To honor the alumni’s support, the team is adding the historic “Triangle” logo to the sleeve of the new jerseys. The undergrads are truly grateful.
