A season of preparation

No matches this fall, but the Maddogs never stopped learning and growing.
Last week marked the end of the 2020 fall “season”. While other teams may have used the circumstances to take time off, the Maddogs never stopped learning and growing.
For four months the lads worked with our coaches to grow our rugby IQ: reviewing and reinventing attack and defense, revising set plays and combing through past mistakes. Working with our professional Major League Rugby strength and conditioning coach, the Dogs followed position-specific programs, and twice-weekly in-person sessions hosted by club sports let returning and new players get to know each other safely.
We’re hoping for a shortened spring fifteens season from February 27, then a shortened sevens season, giving the Maddogs the chance to defend both their Liberty fifteens and sevens titles. With two undefeated fifteens seasons in the last three and a top-10 national ranking in sevens, there’s nothing the Maddogs want more than to get back on the pitch and prove there were no flukes.
Without our alumni and families we would be nowhere near where we are today. We look forward to seeing you on our sidelines soon.
