Remembering Keith Hague, NCR All-Star champions in Houston, and Sarah Levy scores three at Twickenham.

We are saddened to report the passing of one of our original Maddogs, Keith Hague. Keith was a 1990 civil engineering graduate from Cape Cod and a member of the undefeated ’90 squad, remembered by his teammates as an intense, hard-hitting flanker who always had a smile on his face. His teammates are honoring him with a gift in his name to the Professor Bruce Wallin Memorial Endowment. We’ll remember Keith, and all the members of our club we’ve lost, at our Memorial Touch Tournament this year.

NCR All-Stars

Head coach Ed Tubridy and ten Maddogs took part in the NCR national all-star fifteens in Houston. Ed coached the New England All-Star “Reds” and took them to the championship, beating the Pacific Coast Grizzlies 18–8 in the final. Coaching the regional all-stars through December was a major commitment, and another huge boost for NU Rugby’s reputation. Congratulations and thank you, Ed.

Sarah Levy at Twickenham

Lady Maddog alumna Sarah Levy was invited to play for the historic Barbarians, and scored three tries in their 60–5 win over South Africa in front of a historic crowd at Twickenham. Sarah, a 2016 Lady Maddog, has already earned several USA fifteens and sevens caps. Keep it up, Sarah!

Looking ahead

The sevens season includes Stony Brook (March 26), the Free Jacks qualifier (April 2), Colgate (April 9) and Fairfield (April 23), building toward the USA Rugby Sevens Championship and the CRCs in New Orleans. The B side will enter the Beast of the East in Providence on April 23 and 24. Giving Day is April 14.
